Garlic bulbs at the ready for Chris McKay’s horror-comedy: a cynical side-hustle of a picture, come to drain the extremities of the Bram Stoker estate and install a lowly pretender as king.

Renfield

Renfield has spent the past century as Dracula’s grotesque familiar, gobbling insects for breakfast and sourcing new meat for his master. “A busload of cheerleaders,” is one of the demands the count has at one point, as though he’s perusing the menu at his favourite take away joint.

His story arc for me was a fascinating piece of this gory puzzle and boy was this gory. (In a fun way)

It was not the stylistically realistic gore that you would have seen in Sisu but rather a CGI blood explosion that reminds me of “Ash vs The Evil Dead”. This did not offend my eye sockets at all but was rather fun due to the movies look and theme.

If a horror comedy is a genre that tickles your tastebuds then I would recommend you watch this!!
